In lieu of any "Christmas letter" this year. I decided to just let people know about our blog. So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Looking through our archives you can get a pretty good idea
of what life is like around here in the past few months.
I asked Hunter and Ethan to come up with top ten
list of their favorite things. Thought it would be fun
for them. Here are the results--I thought it was cute
what they came up with.
Hunter: (unedited & typed by Mom)
Hi. I am Hunter. My last name is ---.
My first thing I like is sleeping. The next thing is
playing computer (Zoo tycoon). My third thing is
making pictures. I am 7 years old and in the
2nd grade. My fourth thing is school. The next
thing is listening to Adventures in Odyssey. My
next thing is playing with Izzy and Ethan. My sixth
thing is spending time with my family. My next thing
is playing outside. The next thing is playing games.
The nineth thing is doing activity books. The last
thing is making up stories.
Comments by Mom--Hunter wanted to write
more of a letter. He seems to always be drawing
pictures and writing his own short stories. He is
doing very well in school and especially
enjoys History, Science and Art.

Comments by Mom--Ethan is a very good reader
and is usually begging me to take him to the library
because he finished his books and needs more. He
also is progressing well with school (homeschool) and
also especially loves learning History and reading
stories. I can always count on Ethan to give me more
than enough hugs throughout the day. He is my biggest
kid but definately my most affectionate--can't wait
til he is 6'3.
Izzy is all girl....I helped her come up with some her
favorite things as well. She loves to wear skirts and
dresses. She also got her ears pierced this summer
and is so proud of her earrings. She enjoys playing dolls
with her cousins, helping Mom cook supper, and watching
Winnie the Pooh or Barbie movies. She also really likes
playing dress up. She is always keeping busy--"Busy Izzy"
is among her many nicknames. She is quickly going
through every Preschool book I get for her... I have to
keep getting more! She is four years old, going on 13!
She will not be left behind in any way, shape, or form!
Just to give you a glimpse of what she is like.....I was
shopping one day with just Isabel with me. I thought
she was right beside me but when I turned to tell
her to come, she was gone! Luckily it was a very small store.
She had gone up to the checkout counter
and was saying "Excuse me, could we please have a cart?
There are not any left." I told her we didn't need a cart
and on we went. I am amazed by these simple
things... I would have been terrified to even say
hi to a store clerk!

Seven Eagles field trip
We took a field trip to Seven Eagles Historical Education Center to learn about American Indian life. We enjoyed a tour from "Lightfoot" our very knowledgable and authentic guide. Kids had a great time.
