Ethan's Report

Ethan did a report on Jack Nicklaus for his CoOp class. He had
to write a 4-6 page paper and read it in front of his class. He
also had to create this display board and dress like his person.
Don't you just love those pants?

He (with Hunter's help) also designed this putt putt golf hole
for everyone in the class to try. It was a big hit.

Ethan did a great job. He is so relaxed talking in front of people....he did not
get that from me...that is for sure!

Duck Art

We spent a lot of time on Saturday working on Duck Art to enter in the Federal
Junior Duck Stamp competition. We usually enter through a CoOp Art class
but this year they were not in the same class so the kids decided to enter
on their own. It is so interesting to see their differences/personalities and how
they approach and complete their art.
Ethan initially just wanted to be done so he had very little detail in his at first. Let's
just say it, he tends to be a little lazy at times. He needed lots of guidance and
encouragement to add more detail so I sat with him talking him through each step.
I think he ended up with a very nice painting and he was very proud.
Meanwhile, Hunter did his all on his own and spent hours (and hours!)
"perfecting" his drawing. He prefers colored pencils so he can add lots of detail.
And then there is Izzy. She wanted no help and finished hers in about
30 seconds...okay I'm exaggerating.

I think they did a great job! We sent them in the mail today and will
await results....it's a long wait.

Telemarketers?

No, not telemarketers but everytime I see them like this it makes me think of that.
This year for school they each have their own computer. They love it and are doing so well!

Spring Concert

Recorder class

Handsome boys

Sweet girls

The kids' Spring concert went great. So proud of all of them! They each
had some stage fright but overcame it and did great.
Ethan and Izzy sang their solos beautifully.

School :( school :(....turtle :) !

We were spending a long afternoon working on school (you can tell
how happy the boys were to be doing writing) when Hunter
spotted a turtle making his way out of the pond. We were unable to
identify what kind he was because he wasn't in our book.

Mission to the Moon!

Hunter and Ethan completed a mission to the moon today!! They absolutely loved it. They came home and the first thing they said was, "It was so cool, Mom!" They got to do things like operate robotic arms, "ride" in a space shuttle, and send urgent messages from Mission Control.  Great day for boys!

Fort Meigs

Our field trip to Fort Meigs

Field trip to Carruth

We went on a tour of George Carruth studios
to see how the art/sculptures are made. It
was so interesting to hear the artist story and
see the process.
Here are the kids making their "garden smiles" by the sign.

Creation Museum

We had a wonderful time at the Creation Museum. Kids
loved the dinosaurs and just soaked up all the information.
It was a beautiful day...perfect for our lunch outside and
walking through the gardens. It was so pretty and not
everything was even in bloom yet...can't imagine how pretty
it is in the summer. The kids really liked the rope bridge
and the petting zoo too. I actually petted a camel for the
first time. Unfortunately Izzy was not too happy with the
potbelly pig, he snipped at her leg while she was petting him.

more Art....

Yesterday at the library I found a book
about how to draw birds for Hunter. He has
been spending hours on it! He loves to draw.
Here are some of his drawings. I think
they are quite good....he did it all on his
own.
