Bird watch

 
Reed put some new bird seed in
our bird feeder, the birds were
very busy out there today. We saw
all kinds. This is my favorite-the
big bluejay.I finally got his picture.

G.E.M.S. group

 
 
Here are some of the kids
that come to play and have fun
while the Moms meet for
G.E.M.S.-Godly Encouragement
for Moms group-once a month. All
of them are either preschool age
or homeschooled. They are a great
group of kids. It is a highlight
every month for my kids-they have
so much fun.

Izzy

I decided to sneak a few photos
of Isabel...she is looking at a
toy catalog, trying to complete
her Christmas list. This is a
daily occurence at our house
right now. Anyway, I took the
first photo, then she put her
thumb in her mouth and her other
finger in her bellybutton so I
had to take another picture
for evidence of this bizarre habit.
Finally she caught me taking her
picture and wanted to pose for me
in her Ohio State jersey.

Hornet's nest

 
 
 
We were finally able to remove the
hornet's nest from the tree beside
our house. Apparently they leave the
nest in the fall. The kids and I learned
that the nest is made up of basically
wood fibers and saliva. It feels very
paperlike. You can see from the picture
that the inside is full of "cells".
These cells are where the larvea
of the hornets are kept and fed.
