Guitar!

The boys have been taking guitar lessons and love it.
They were very excited to put their birthday money
together to buy a new electric guitar and amp. We also
got them tickets to a Lincoln Brewster concert this spring.
So excited.....Rock on!

Oh my...how time flies!

      Hunter & Ethan-THEN

      Ethan & Hunter-NOW

Hunter and Ethan celebrated their 11th birthday recently....yes, we have made it this far :)
Can't believe they are this grown up, but yet I have found that they are not so grown up that they care about fixing their hair. In the future I think  I will enjoy not having to think about fixing their bed head before we leave the house. They will eventually care how their hair looks, right? I know, I should enjoy this time when they don't cuz they already  grow up too fast anyway.   I think summer buzz cuts are in order soon though!

Duck Art

We spent a lot of time on Saturday working on Duck Art to enter in the Federal
Junior Duck Stamp competition. We usually enter through a CoOp Art class
but this year they were not in the same class so the kids decided to enter
on their own. It is so interesting to see their differences/personalities and how
they approach and complete their art.
Ethan initially just wanted to be done so he had very little detail in his at first. Let's
just say it, he tends to be a little lazy at times. He needed lots of guidance and
encouragement to add more detail so I sat with him talking him through each step.
I think he ended up with a very nice painting and he was very proud.
Meanwhile, Hunter did his all on his own and spent hours (and hours!)
"perfecting" his drawing. He prefers colored pencils so he can add lots of detail.
And then there is Izzy. She wanted no help and finished hers in about
30 seconds...okay I'm exaggerating.

I think they did a great job! We sent them in the mail today and will
await results....it's a long wait.

Waterpark Fun

We had a nice getaway to a waterpark this winter. The kids just love going here...
an advantage of homeschooling is we can go during the week when it
is less busy. Hunter and Ethan loved the Flow Rider and the Tasmanian Twister.
Izzy was tall enough to go on everything and loved it.
